In Memoriam
Senator Hinton Mitchem
Since the ASF Foundation's inception in 1982, State Senator Hinton Mitchem from Albertville has been instrumental in providing leadership for the ASF Foundation's State Games, including the inaugural event in 1983.
Senator Mitchem passed away in 2012 and will be sorely missed by the ASF Foundation family. In his memory, the ASF Foundation dedicates State Games XXXI in his honor.

Sandra Newkirk
At the very beginning in 1982, Sandra Newkirk from Auburn was heavily involved in providing volunteer support and leadership for the ASF Foundation's State Games Inaugural Event in 1983.
Sandra Newkirk passed away in 2012 and will be sorely missed by the ASF Foundation family. In her memory, the ASF Foundation dedicates State Games XXXI in her honor.
